at Body TLC
We encourage body confidence here at Body TLC.
We do not 'fat shame' or cast judgement, as long as you are healthy and confident in your body,
then we are happy to help you in any way we can.

We want you to simply love the skin you are in!
We will never suggest these treatments to you, unless you express a desire to change an area, and we will be honest and say if we feel it is not suitable for you, or an alternative is better suited to you.
What are Fat Dissolving Injections?

Injection lipolysis, also known as intralipotherapy, is a minimally invasive medical procedure for targeted fat reduction. Commonly referred to as fat dissolving injections, intralipotherapy is a form of mesotherapy and one of the nonsurgical fat reduction options.

Fat Dissolving Injections are a safe, effective treatment that reduces fat cells in the treated area. It produces long lasting results, which means you can banish those annoyingly wobbly bits.
These injections can be used to treat small, exercise resistant, pockets of fat around the chin, chest, underarm pouches, bra fat, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, knees and ankles. It is very effective for body contouring, but is not a treatment for weight loss.

Made up from a number of different plant based compounds that have been refined in a lab environment. The ingredients dissolve the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The fat cells become unstable and break open. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then eliminated by macrophages (part of the body’s immune system) and the liver.

Are Fat Dissolving Injections suitable for me?

If you are maintaining a healthy lifestyle and are close to your ideal body weight, but have isolated stubborn areas of fat then injectable dissolving might be suitable.
Popular areas that we treat are double chins, moobs, bra and underarm pouches, upper arms, saddle bags, inner thighs, 'cankles' and abdomen - including defining a six pack. We may also be able to sculpt the jowl area with Cincelar+.
If you have significant weight in the target area, then fat dissolving is not suitable for you, but other body contouring treatments we offer may be. If you have recently lost significant weight then the area concerning you may be loose skin which we can improve with skin tightening treatments.
A consultation with our highly trained therapist will determine the correct treatment plan for you.
Fat dissolving is not suitable if you:
-
Have diabetes.
-
Have liver or kidney disease.
-
Have active skin problem in the area to be treated.
-
Are taking blood thinning medicine e.g warfarin.

What is Deoxycholic acid?
Deoxycholic acid
Deoxycholic acid, a major component of Cincelar Plus, is an element present in the human body and is used in fat emulsification for absorption in the intestines, mainly produced in the liver. Deoxycholic acid has an excellent effect on fat removing.
Deoxycholic acid is a US FDA approved fat dissolving material and a naturally occurring human bile acid, which is a metabolic by-product of human intestinal bacteria. In the human body, deoxycholic acid is used in the emulsification of fats for absorption in the intestine.
Aqualyx and Desobody also contain Deoycholic Acid - However, the only compositional difference between these is where Cincelar+ has a higher concentrate of deoxycholic acid, Aqualyx is a derivative.

What does this mean to the consumer?
Well, we have no intention to blind you with scientific words that don't relate to the average consumer so in brief, all these products will:
-
Help eliminate stubborn pockets of fat
-
Harmless to other tissue such as muscles and veins
-
Safe for the majority of clients (please see the short list above for those NOT suitable)
-
All delivered in injectable form in a non surgical fashion
-
All with the same volume of solution each vial (8ml)
-
All create some hard deposits under the skin in the initial stages of treatment - indicating a good result and treatment of fatty tissue
-
All are FDA approved
Here is where they differ:
-
Aqualyx & Desobody have a longer recovery period vs Cincelar+
-
Swelling typically lasts up to 1 week with Aqualyx vs 10 days with Desobody/Desoface, vs 1-2 days with Cincelar+
-
Results are seen slower with Aqualyx and Desobody/Desoface with 4-8 weeks for Cincelar+, upto 12 for Aqualyx and up to 14 weeks for Desobody/DesoFace
-
All may take up to 14 weeks but typically improvements are noticed around as stated above for the certain brands.
-
Treatment is comfortable for all products - though Aqualyx and Desobody/Desoface both require the addition of Lidocaine to improve comfort. delivered without this and they are rather painful. We always deliver it with Lidocaine to improve your comfort. Cincelar+ does not require any lidocaine, it is not painful as a pure product and therefore doesn't require any dilution.
-
Strength: Aqualyx is not as strong as Desobody/Desoface, Cincelar+ is the strongest of all products, partly due to the dilution of adding lidocaine to Aqualyx and Desobody/face and partly due to Cincelar+ being a newer product with a better composition of ingredients.
-
You need less repeat sessions with Cincelar+ vs Aqualyx/Desobody/Desoface. Appproximately 2-5 sessions vs 3-8 sessions *depending on degree of fat cells to destroy.
-
Aqualyx and Desobody/Desoface can be repeated in the same area after 8 weeks typically. Cincelar+ can be repeated after 4 weeks allowing you to reach your goals faster.
-
Cincelar+ is the most costly, Aqualyx the cheapest.
So why do we offer choice?
It may be obvious from the descriptors that Cincelar+ is the stronger product - but Aqualyx and Desobody/face still have its place in the field - and it has its loyal fan base. We want to offer people flexibility and choice.
Most clients with financial restraints opt for Cincelar+ for the chin area - due to the benefits in speed and swelling. Whilst they often opt for a cheaper brand for the body where swelling is easier hidden.

We have listed below some popular Q&A's
Please be aware that all our injectables require a mandatory free consultation, separate and prior to the treatment appointment
Q. How long does it take for fat dissolving injections to work?
A. The swelling will usually go down within 48 hours with Cincelar+ but can take up to a week for Aqualyx/ Desobody. For best results, two to three treatments (cincelar+) one month apart, or three to eight treatments (Aqualyx / Desobody) two months apart are recommended, as with many other cosmetic treatments it takes up to twelve weeks for you to notice the effects. Though with Cincelar+ you can reasonably expect to see a change after 4-6 weeks.
Q. Do fat dissolving injections really work?
A. Fat dissolving injections can help you to achieve a slimmer, more contoured body shape, with long-lasting results of between two and four years. The results are even longer if you maintain a healthy diet and regularly exercise! The treated cells are permanently destroyed but poor diet can cause other localised fat cells to swell.
Q. How often can you have the treatment?
A. Fat dissolving typically requires a course of two to five treatments with four to eight-week intervals between each session. Although the procedure doesn't hurt, you should expect some swelling which can take two days to two weeks to subside.
Q. How do fat melting injections work?
A. "The injections contain a specially designed chemical to dissolve the fat by separating the molecules down into tiny particles,” explains Jaycee. This means the dissolved fat molecules can then be absorbed in the body's natural drainage, it is then flushed out via urine and sweat.
Q. What do the injections consist of?
A. These injectables consist of various vitamins, nutrients, and other ingredients purportedly used to aid in weight loss. Some of the most common ingredients in these shots include:
-
Deoxycholic Acid
-
MIC (a combination of methionine, inositol, and choline)
The shots may be administered in the arm or other areas containing more subcutaneous fatty tissues, such as the thigh, abdomen, or buttocks.
Q, What side effects should I expect?
A. Side effects of fat dissolving injections are rare. You may experience swelling, bruising, itching, pain, sensitivity to pressure, and excessive warmth at the injection site. However, this is usually resolved within three to five days.
